Congratulations on a SUCCESSFUL 2011 Mexico National Championship held November 12-13th in Chihuahua.
Thanks to all DAN members for demonstrating genuine leadership and professional skills in judging. Your judges training has made a very positive difference in the event. Thanks to all DAN members for your National Black Belt Show. Your skills, and coordination were truly impressive.Most importantly, more than 95% of all the studios in Mexico displayed true WTSDA unity by demonstrating together in one awesome and exciting show. Congratulations again!

Special Thanks for those Building Fund Donations collected for the Headqurters Tree Plantings. We did not reach the goal we had hoped for but the funds donated will help our group effort of planting a Tree in the name of WTSDA MEXICO at the new headquarters in January. Donations are still being accepted if you care to give.

Thank you Chihuahua TSD Ryun Ma for a very generous After-Championship Party that your studio provided for our visiting participants. Your Fund-Raising efforts throughout the year provided a wonderful gift for the many families. We really appreciate your hospitality. Thank you Master Manuel Ramirez & KSN Señora Norma Lira Ramirez for your work, planning and organization. Your leadership combined with the skill and efforts of your many talented and dedicated students provided the high standards that were immensely enjoyed by all.

Thank you teams Culiacan, Chihuahua, Hermosillo, San Luis R. C., Ciudad Juarez, and Caborca for your sacrifice and long travel to Chihuahua. We hope you all returned safely with renewed spirit and friendships.

And finally, congratulations to Laura Cristell Serrano Perez SAM DAN of IMSS Tang Soo Do Culiacan the new 2011 WTSDA Mexico National Grand Champion. You have added to WTSDA history by becoming the first female to win the prestigious WTSDA Copa de Mexico. Go Girl!We will see you again when you return the Cup in 2013.

Estimados Maestros, instructores, practicantes y amigos: Tenemos el agrado y la alegría de invitarlos al "Campeonato Sudamericano Argentina 2009" o como lo hemos titulado " Campeonato del Bicentenario", en conmemoración a los 200 años de la revolución de mayo. Es nuestro deseo que todos y cada una de las personas que son parte del Tang soo Do en Sudamérica puedan hacerse presentes en tan esperado evento.Para este torneo vamos a contar con la presencia de nuestro Gran Maestro JAe C. Shin y de los maestros directores de la región, como así también las altas graduaciones de la Argentina. Pero además tenemos preparado un Campeonato con algunas sorpresas para todos Uds. y el publico en general. El Evento se realiza en el Club Ateneo Popular de Versailles, cito en la calle Roma 950 de la Capital Federal, para referenciarlos este Club queda a escasas cuadras del Club Vélez Sarsfield en el Barrio de Liniers.

On December 7th, 2008, the WTSDA-Argentina celebrated their 20th anniversary during the Argentina National Championship. Special presentations and a Black Belt show included many of the Argentina Masters and Instructors as well as several visiting masters from Chile, Mexico and the USA. Grand Master Jae C Shin was also in attendance for this landmark event. The Championship was hosted by Master Hugo Fratinni and was held at the Club Independente in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires.

Thank you for your participation and assistance in last weeks Regional Championship in Ensenada, B.C.. It was wonderful to have our family gathering and enjoy the hospitality of the event host, BSBN Victor Vea and his team. We are grateful for his efforts to make the event special and accommodating.

1. Our DAN members in Mexico are growing and we feel that one of the next goals for our association is to establish an annual MEXICO DAN CAMP. The camp would be an essential training tool and have a major influence for DAN members seeking higher promotion in WTSDA. I have asked several Masters to research various locations for the camp so that we may consider the most economical and logical site. We will welcome anyone's ideas and suggestions in order to begin this project.

2. In preparation for future Regional and National Championships. We would like to create a Black Belt Show for the opening ceremonies of each event.
The Black Belt Show will consist of DAN members only and each school will have approximately 2:00 minutes for their performance. The combination of all the schools performances will create approximately a 20 minute show.
Also, each performance must have it's own music.
For the best results we would want to collect and combine all of the music collected onto one CD. In this way the show can run without interruptions. Please begin your music selection and your ideas for your schools 2:00 minute section. Please select and send me your music as soon as possible and I will convert it all onto one CD and mail it back to you. Send me the music (CD) via mail or e-mail soon.
I would like to begin the BLACK BELT SHOW project for the next Championship scheduled for February 2009.

3. The 2009 Sonora State Championship will be held in Guaymas, Sonora at the end of February. The exact date will be confirmed soon. The host of the event is BSBN Jose Duenas Soto and directed by Master Santos Gomez. For more information please contact Master Santos Gomez at: santostsd@hotmail.com.

4. After careful consideration we are excited to announce the site of the 2009 Mexico National Championship. Please reserve the weekend of November 6-8, 2009. The site will be Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Hosts of the event BSBN Rodolfo Serna & Pablo Cervantes. This is a new city with a new school and new instructors. Special Guest for this event is Grandmaster Jae C Shin.

5. A reminder that all DAN members are required to renew their DAN membership and teaching licences for 2009. Please complete your renewal by December.

The John F. Kennedy Tang Soo Do Club in Tijuana, Baja, California Mexico. Pictured is the inaugural Gup promotion review and clinic held Saturday May 31st, 2008 at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Tijuana Mexico. Twenty five shinny new white belt students led by instructor Perla Uribe enthusiastically demonstrated their skills as Master Larry D'Ercole looked on. The school is supported by a wonderful team on Tang Soo Do moms and dads as well as the school system providing a genuine positive environment for the students.

10º Campeonato Sudamericano WTSDA 2007

The (Campeonato Sudamericano WTSDA) was again celebrated on December 9th at the Club Independente in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year marked the 10th anniversary of this bi annual event and drew competitors from throughout Argentina and Chile. Our special guest included many of the Masters from the recent Latin American Masters Camp (LMAC) and of course our special guest, Grandmaster J.C. Shin.

During opening ceremonies a traditional WTSDA Masters and SAM DAN demonstration preceded a masters promotion ceremony. Hundreds of students and spectators observed as the Grandmaster KNIGHTED the new ranks to; Master Hugo Frattini of Avellaneda, Argentina 5th DAN and Master Victor Jara of Santiago, Chile to 5th DAN. Also promoted were two new 4th DAN, Master Christian Alvarez and Master Rodrigo Frattini both of Buenos, Argentina. Congratulations!

Another moment was reserved for the recognition for the Region 12 Family of the Year. The Ayala family from Lorenzo's Studio of Ramos Mejia, Buenos Aires - Daniel Oscar Ayala (E-DAN), Mauro Danel Ayala (E-DAN), Ramiro Nataniel Ayala (Cho DAN), Marcos Danil Ayala (8th Gup), and of course mother, Monica Beatriz (no rank yet).

The spirited competition included from the always entertaining Tiny Tigers to the high skilled Black Belts categories. At the close of the event Hernan Millara Sam Dan of Buenos Aires was declared 2007 South American Grand Champion and awarded the SA Championship CUP of which he shall hold until this event meets again in 2009.

Special appreciation also is exteded to the Instructor Pablo Scottino and the Villa Gesell students for their exhibition demo and to the event host, the Frattini studios and their very dependable and dedicated team.

Latin America Masters Clinic (LAMC) IV

The Latin America Masters Camp (LAMC) was held this past December 6-8th near Buenos Aires, Argentina. This being our 4th year, the Camp is steadily developing in size and in function. Comparatively dwarfed by the veteran USA Masters Camp, however the LAMC holds a character all its own. The Camp is held at the Casa San Jose, a religious retreat facility about an hours ride outside the city of Buenos Aires. The dormitories and connecting salon facility are reminiscent of the first Camps of St. Leo Monastery of Florida in the early '90's. Much of the training is conducted in the solitude of the outdoors on ample grounds and under green canopies of shade trees. Argentina is located in the Southern hemisphere and December marks the end of the school year and the beginning of summer. Visiting masters from the North American freeze find this to be a welcomed treat. There have been a number foreign masters that have made the adventure to Argentina. This year (2007) included Master Mike Kaye from Pennsylvania, Master Ken Purnell from California, and Master Mike Inoshita from the Chicago area. They, together with our Argentine and Chilean amigo masters promote the synergy that is uniquely World Tang Soo Do. Special talents and specialties of the visiting Masters present ideal training opportunities for our Southern family and of course the classes conducted by the Grandmaster provide exceptional learning experiences and impressions.
We must remind ourselves of the privilege and value of having our Kwan Chang Nim offering his knowledge and experience to our own personal development. We also are appreciative of Masters Hugo and Rodrigo Frattini of for their tedious work coordinating all of the logistics of this international program. The Latin America Masters Camp is looking for a few good masters to join us in December for future adventures in beautiful South America.

La Asociación de Estudiantes de Tang Soo Do de Coronado, logró que el Tang Soo Do en Costa Rica diera un paso gigante en su crecimiento con la organización del de Tang Soo Do, en el que fueron invitados los primeros gup, los Cho Dan Bo y los Ju Dan Ja.
Contando con una agenda muy bien estructurada, este sábado 6 de octubre en la finca "Los Bosquecitos" en Heredia los participantes del seminario pudieron participar de actividades muy variadas saliéndose del concepto de clase normal de Tang Soo Do, pero logrando un aprendizaje en cada participante de una manera práctica y participativa.
Espada, bong, cuchillo, arbitraje, combate, ki gong y tai chi fue parte del menú presentado por la Asociación de Estudiantes de Coronado, y fue impartido principalmente entre el Master Biamonte, los BSBN Esteban Biamonte y Rosa María Rodrígez.
Desde las 8.00 a.m. hasta las 5.00 p.m, tuvimos un gran día compartiendo conocimientos y disfrutando de todo, inclusive del bellísimo lugar lleno de naturaleza, que fue escenario de la actividad.
El seminario terminó con la entrega de un certificado de participación por parte del Master Biamonte a cada uno de los asistentes y unas palabras de agradecimiento, resumidas en esta conocida frase: EL TANG SOO DO ESTÁ VIVO EN COSTA RICA.

...Mi nombre es Daniel Ayala, (E-DAN). Vivo en Buenos Aires, Argentina y pertenezco a la dojang del Maestro Norberto Lorenzo. Hace nueve anos que mi familia y yo estamos junto al Tang Soo Do. Mis primeros pasos en TSD fueron al acompanar a mi hijo mayor que en ese entonces tenia 5 anos de edad, agradezco la insistencia del Maestro Lorenzo para empezar cuando me veia sentado mirando la clase que tomaba mi hijo, ya llevo nueve anos practicando y por suerte compartiendo momentos de practica junto ahora a mis tres hijos. Tengo suerte de tener una esposa que nos a compana a todo los eventos que esten relacionados con el Tang Soo Do o cualquier otro arte marcial.

Por medio de la presente, tenemos el agrado de invitarlo a Ud. y todos sus alumnos a participar del 10mo Campeonato Sudamericano. Contaremos con la presencia de nuestro Grand Master Jae Chul Shin, Director Regional Master Larry Dercole, y demas maestros de la WTSDA.

Dicho evento se desarrollara el 9 de Diciembre del corriente año, en el Microestadio Bottaro del Club Atlético Independiente. El mencionado Club se encuentra ubicado en la Avenida Mitre 470 Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

El comienzo del mismo esta programado para las 8.00 AM con la categoría de formas con armas. Las competencias que se van a desarrollar son las siguientes: Formas con armas - Formas - Combate - Creatividad - Categoría para karate Kids - Competencias de Kyuck pa - Competencias de Dibujo ( ver reglamento adjunto )

El reglamento del evento será el oficial establecido por la WTSDA.
